LCWINS Program Manager
The Leadership Council for Women in National Security (LCWINS) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Washington, DC. Our mission is to advance gender parity in American national security leadership. We harness the strength of a growing network of women from across the political spectrum to support the inclusion of women at the highest levels of U.S. national security and foreign policy leadership in both public and private sectors.
Position: Program Manager
Location: Washington, DC/Remote
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
Responsibilities:
The Program Manager (PM) works under the supervision of the LCWINS Executive Director (ED) to provide programmatic and administrative support for the organization’s day to day operations. The PM works independently to provide proactive project and program support on strategic projects, events, communications, and general nonprofit operations.
Communications & Events (40%)
- Track and coordinate multiple workstreams to support a cohesive, collective message
- Identify, plan, and execute in-person events and webinars including draft announcements, invitations, RSVP management, Zoom and facility management, speaker prep, evaluation, etc.
- Manage organization’s website and listserv
- Contribute to the development and implementation of impact monitoring and evaluation
- Produce high quality written products that employ data, analysis, storytelling, and calls to action
- Coordinate cross-promotion and reciprocal engagement with partners and peer organizations
- Manage social media strategies and implementation
- Ensure incoming inquiries receive prompt attention and external relationship data is updated
Operations/Administration (30%)
- Support implementation of ED’s implementation plan and strategic priorities
- Lead maintenance of Salesforce records, serving as primary liaison between with relevant vendors
- Track open items for action and follow-up from identification through completion
- Assist in management and collaboration with organizational partners
- Take formal minutes of each board meeting
- Other duties as assigned
Research & Project Management (30%)
- Manage timely follow-up on internal and external requests for information
- Coordinate and manage confidential information with a high level of discretion
- Identify, gather, and summarize appropriate primary and secondary source information
- Assist in the development of qualitative and quantitative research project components
- Translate research and analysis into data visualizations for website and publications
Qualifications
- At least three years of work experience in nonprofit project management and/or communications
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Special interest in national security, international affairs, and women’s leadership
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, Canva, and data visualization tools
- Political experience welcome
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, swiftly, and prioritize accordingly
- Strong commitment to deadlines, time management, and follow-through
- Knowledge of effective project management processes and practices
