TheLeadership Council for Women in National Security (LCWINS), established in June2019, brings together a diverse, bipartisan group of female leaders in national security -- along with a number of strong male allies in the field -- to push for change.  Using the power of the acclaimed and accomplished leaders on our Leadership Council and AdvisoryCommittee, we will use our ideas, connections and experience to insist on the prioritization of gender diversity and promote concrete solutions to the national security gender gap. We are not a research institution. Our model is to use our collective authority and our leverage to hold leaders accountable for meaningful change.

LCWINS is seeking an entrepreneurial Executive Director to lead our efforts to improve national security by ensuring that women, in all their diversity, have fair representation at the decision-making table. The Executive Director is the key management leader of LCWINS. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization.Other key duties include fundraising, external and internal communications, advocacy and community outreach. The position reports directly to the LCWINS Board of Directors.

The ED will be hired as a contract consultant with LCWINS’ fiscal sponsor, the Pacific Council on InternationalPolicy. One of the ED’s initial responsibilities will be to manage the transition from LCWINS’ fiscal sponsor to a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization, and then will work with the Board of Directors to convert the role from a contract consultant with no benefits to a full-time role with benefits.
